Structure Of Automatic Transmission


The internal parts of automatic transmission include – 

  • Planetary gear system – It contain more than one gear set providing reverse gear and forward gears.
  • Torque converter – It is located between transmission gears and engine. It amplifies and transfers power from engine to transmission.
  • Clutch pack – It contains alternating discs.
  • Bands – These are steel straps having frictional material on one side.
  • Oil pump
  • Throttle cable
  • Valve body

These automatic transmission parts handle automatic shifting of gears of the vehicle. You can change your car’s manual transmission with automatic transmission.
